Hamburg American Clock Co. black mantel, 1892-1930. A 12-inch Belgian slate mantel clock from Hamburg American Clock Co., a German company that was taken over by Junghans in 1930. The case is clean, there is one significant chip at a top right corner.  The two-part porcelain dial sits behind a beveled glass in a brass bezel.  The gold columns have been painted, the finials are brass.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement bears the HAC insignia (crossed arrows); it is running and striking.  $50-$200.
