MA-8. $100
Elisha Hotchkiss shelf clock case, 1831-1834. A
29.5-inch case with the original carved pineapple finials and stenciled splat. The columns seem to have been painted black and
are worn down to bare wood in places. The mahogany veneer looks good, with some repairs and a chip near the door latch. Both glasses are modern replacements with a beautiful tablet painted by Lee Davis. The wooden dial is clean with an attractive
center wreath of red berries. There is no movement, it should have a 30-hour time-and-strike wooden movement. Possible
replacement movements can be found in Parts, along with 30-hour weights. No hands are available. There is a readable label
inside, with an iron bell. $100-$200.
