Antique American Clocks January 2022
New Haven Clock Co. “Anglo-American” round drop, ca. 1890. A 26-inch walnut case with string inlays and circular blond insets. There is veneer around the lower door with some losses and repairs. The dial glass is modern, the lower glass likely original with fretwork behind it. There are carved “ears” at the neck. The dial has likely been repainted, the hands are proper. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement bears the New Haven logo; it is running and striking as expected. There is a very good label inside. $150-$250.
