Brewster & Ingrahams steeple, 1843-1852. This simple steeple is notable for its two finials in
the shape of a cross; I have not seen that before. The 19-inch case is veneered in rosewood in very good shape; I see no losses
or repairs. Both glasses are period and likely original; the milk-glass tablet of a fountain in New York has minimal losses. The contoured dial was likely repainted, has been varnished, and bears the signature of the makers. The hands are original. The 30-hour, time-and-strike movement is signed and has the original brass springs. It is running and striking on the wire gong. There is an excellent label inside. This one is nice and very original. $175-$250.
