256.    $400

Baird Clock Co. “Diamond Black Advertiser”, ca. 1890.  Well, it’s all original, and shows its age. This clock was made after Baird moved to Plattsburg – square bottom, shallow paper mâché lettering on the dial bezel, and a carved throat rather than rosettes.  Diamond Black is a common Baird model, they must have placed them in numerous tack shops. The gold lettering has been touched up, but that’s about it.  The dial glass is old, the lower door glass replaced.  The paper dial is certainly original, with much peeling and wear.  The 8-day, time-only movement is signed Baird Clock Co., Plattsburg NY, and is very dirty, but is running.  The pendulum bob is Baird issue; the label is all but gone.  If you’re looking for original, here it is.  $500-$800.
