Antique American Clocks January 2022
239. $100
Vienna case with New Haven movement. This is a nice 43-inch case with contrasting wood and carvings;
unfortunately, it is missing its crest and the finials on the bottom are improper replacements. The middle finial prevents the
clock from lying flat against the wall. All five glasses are old; the dial is new paper, the hands appropriate to an American
clock; however, the winding ports do not line up well with the winding arbors, making winding difficult. The movement is a New
Haven Clock Co. 8-day, time-and-strike wall movement with an 18-inch pendulum specification. It is running, striking, and importantly,
keeping time. Well, there are a lot of possibilities with this clock. $100-$200.
