224.    $100

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Franklin”, ca. 1900.  A 1900 reissue (as with #222), this 38-inch sleigh-front clock has mahogany veneer, gilded half-columns, and two old glasses.  The tablet is peeling badly, has been touched up, and the bottom strip is missing for some reason.  The metal dial also has a few chips, the hands are as issued.  The gilding on the columns has been painted over, and there are some chips.  The crest is mahogany with applied carvings.  The Seth Thomas 8-day, time-and-strike lyre movement is running but the strike is stuck and will need some attention; there are two old 8-day weights. The label is also peeling badly.  The Franklin is a difficult clock to find, with no sales records on LiveAuctioneers or in the Antique Clocks Price Guide.   $100-$200.
