220.    $275

Waterbury Clock Co. “Calendar No. 44”, ca. 1907.  Waterbury made several versions of this small shelf calendar over the years; this is the last version.  It stands 24 inches tall in walnut with an old finish with patina on the sides.  The walnut has been sun-faded on the top and base.  The door glass is a modern replacement, properly painted. The dials are the original paper with the company name on each.  They are faded as well and stained.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned, running and striking on the hours and half-hours on the cathedral gong; the calendar is advancing.  The calendar rollers are very dark.  Several labels on the back, mostly torn up.  Schmitt’s Antiques sold one last fall for $275.  $275-$400.
