218.     $250

Davis Clock Co. “Long Branch”, 1880-1906.  The Davis Clock Co. was headquartered in Columbus MS with a branch in Texarkana AR; the label in this clock indicates it was made in Texarkana.  I have seen DCC clocks before, but not with a Texarkana label.  Of course, its really a Gilbert Clock Co. Long Branch, marketed and possibly assembled by DCC. The oak case is 28.5 inches tall with a clean and glossy finish.  The top finial is correct; the period door glass is as well. The paper dial is stained, the gold calendar hand correct, the time hands replacements.  The signed Gilbert 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the Gilbert cathedral gong, with the proper Gilbert pendulum.  An outstanding label inside, one of the best I’ve seen.  A very nice example, and a rare label.  $250-$400.
