Antique American Clocks January 2022
211. $150
E. Ingraham Co. “Nabob”, ca. 1881. This 22-inch shelf clock is advertised as “walnut
with marbleized sash”, with a faux marble finish and gilding around the edges. The drop finials are incorrect but look good;
note the ebonized trim on the base. The glass is old, the dial old paper, the hands correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike
movement is signed and running, striking on the wire gong. A bright, shiny, and proper pendulum bob completes the outfit. There is a very dark label on the back. No recent sales that I can find. $150-$300.
