Antique American Clocks January 2022
204. $100
E. Ingraham Co. “Brazil” calendar, ca., 1881. A 31-inch case veneered in rosewood with a good finish. The dial glass is modern as is the brass bezel. The lower glass is original and although cracked is stabilized with silicone
sealer. The paper dial is badly yellowed and stained, even though it is a 1960’s replacement. It’s due again. The
time and calendar hands are original I suspect. The 8-day, time-only movement is signed E Ingraham Co. and is running, and the
calendar is advancing. This model came with a large, fancy pendulum, but is missing some leaves above the bob here (see page
114 of Ly’s book on Ingraham clocks). There is a replacement label inside, as no label remains. This would have been an
impressive clock in its time. No sales records. $100-$200.
