Antique American Clocks January 2022
181. $500
E. Ingraham & Co. “Small Venetian”, ca. 1875. This is the very rare subminiature version,
at 11.5 inches tall. You could carry this Venetian in your coat pocket. The case is walnut with a clean and polished finish,
original gilded columns, both glasses are original, as is the embossed brass bezel and paper dial. Even the hands are period. The 30-hour time-only movement is unsigned and running; there is a good green label inside. No faults here in this rare clock. Two sales that I can find, most recently (2005) by my mentor (Carroll Horton) for $1435. $500-$1000.
