Antique American Clocks January 2022
155. $400
Connecticut mirror clock, ca. 1830. A 32-inch box case with a banjo-style 8-day, weight-driven
movement; the maker is unknown. The dial glass is old but the surround has been repainted in a proper style. The mirror
is early twentieth century. The gilt on the columns has been painted, long ago; there are four brass medallions at the corners. The concave metal dial holds the original paint in good condition, the hands are likely original as well. The movement will
run for a little while but will need attention. There is an iron weight suspended on a wooden spool and a proper pendulum. $400-$800.
