145.     $350

New Haven Clock Co. “Enquirer”, ca. 1900.  A large clock, 50 inches tall in golden oak with a clean finish.  Note the many carved elements across the top and bottom.  The door glass is wavy, possibly original, the 10-inch dial is painted with the New Haven name.  The hands are correct.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement bears the New Haven logo.  I can’t keep it running, but it has a deep and rich strike on the cathedral gong.  It will need attention to get it running reliably.  No label to be found, but it is shown on page 140 of Ly’s book on New Haven clocks.  This is a rare clock; it is the first one I have seen, and there are no sales records for this model on LiveAuctioneers or in the Antique Clocks Price Guide.  A 1975 newspaper article documenting the provenance of this clock from St. Michaels Mission in Gallup NM is included.  $350-$700.
