144.    $100

New Haven Clock Co. “Cambria”, ca. 1880.  A 41-inch black walnut case with a dark and near-grungy finish, much in need of a clean-up.  The glass is modern (the catalog shows a stenciled border pattern), the dial is yellowed paper, the hands appropriate.  The finial on the bottom needs to be glued into place and does not match the one shown in the catalog illustration on page 152 of Ly’s book on New Haven clocks.  The unsigned 8-day, time-only movement is clean and running vigorously; the pendulum bob is badly tarnished.  No label on the case, making identification initially difficult.  A nice clock if you want to take the time to clean and polish the case.  Horton’s sold a much nicer Cambria in 2016 for $375. $100-$200.
