142.     $250

Ansonia Clock Co. “Capitol”, ca. 1894.  A 54-inch black walnut or mahogany case with an old finish and plenty of patina.  The door glass is modern, the finials are incorrect replacements.  The dial is paper, the hands likely replacements.  The 8-day, time-and-strike, spring-driven movement has nickel plates, is signed and is running and striking on the half-hours and hours on a cathedral gong.  The pendulum bob is a replacement; the original Ansonia beat scale is at the bottom, and there is a good label on back.  This clock also came in a weight-driven version.  $250-$500.
