127.     $150

Forestville Mfg. Co. double-fusee steeple, 1835-1839.  A 20-inch steeple with clean flame mahogany veneer and two period glasses with a good Fenn-style tablet.  The finials look period as well, the doorknob appears to be ivory. The contoured dial holds the original paint (or a very old repaint), has been touched up at the edges, and has a JC Brown signature at the top; the hour hand is original, the minute hand a nearly correct replacement.  The 8-day, time-and-strike double fusee movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong; note that the right side of the fusee mount cracked and has been repaired. There is a good label inside.  The solid escape wheel suggests that this clock was made by the first Forestville Mfg. Co. (1835-1839). $150-$250.
