Antique American Clocks January 2022
112. $100
Seth Thomas “Albany”, 1884. A 20-inch City Series clock veneered in walnut with a beautiful
finish, original door glass with a stenciled image and framed by gold and black trim. The dial has likely been repainted, as
there is no chipping or wear evident; the minute hand is a slightly incorrect replacement. The signed Seth Thomas 8-day, time-and-strike
lyre movement is running weakly and will need attention, despite its shiny and clean appearance. The strike on the cathedral
gong is rich and deep; there is a proper ST pendulum bob and a worn black label on the inside bottom. The date of manufacture
is stamped on the back. $100-$200.
