110.     $1500

Seth Thomas “Fashion No. 6”, ca. 1880.  One of the more desirable Fashion models, made by Seth Thomas after they bought out the Southern Calendar Clock Co.  The 32-inch case (with center finial) is solid walnut with a clean and polished finish; the door glass is likely original with the proper Fashion gilt lettering.  Both dials have likely been repainted black, with gold lettering, and the four hands are nickel as originally used.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed Seth Thomas and is running, striking on the cathedral gong on the hours; it is screw-mounted to the frame.  The calendar is advancing. Note the labels on the back of the calendar door and behind the calendar movement.  The pendulum bob is damascened nickel. This clock is exactly as specified in the Seth Thomas catalog.  AAC sold a No. 6 two years ago for $1728.  $1500-$1800.
