109.    $500

Southern Calendar Clock Co. “Fashion No. 4”, ca. 1885.  A third example.  The walnut case is clean and polished, the finials old with good tips and well-matched to the case.  The door glass and lettering are original. The dials look like the original paint and are in remarkably good shape, with just a bit of paint flaking and slight discoloration. The hands are correct.  The signed Seth Thomas movement is running but not robustly, perhaps because the suspension spring has been replaced and may be a bit too stiff.  It strikes on the brass bell and the calendar advances.  Nothing not to like here.  $600-$1000.
