Ansonia Clock Co. “Queen Elizabeth”, ca 1901. This is the later model of this queen, and
the one most commonly seen. The 37-inch oak case has been thoroughly refinished but there are still signs of the old finish
in the many grooves. I like the color. The door glass looks original; the paper dial is newer, is signed and has the Ansonia
logo. The hands are correct. The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a cathedral gong mounted
on an Ansonia base. The pendulum bob has a sharp dent. No label. Horton’s sold an oak model in 2019 for $250, a
typical price for this relatively common clock. $250-$350.
