93.      $300

Ansonia Clock Co. “Queen Jane”, ca 1901.  Ansonia called the Queen series clocks “Office Clocks”; they were also offered with a calendar, but you rarely see them with calendars.  The Queen Jane is 42 inches long, here in thoroughly stripped oak and with a natural finish.  This clock is so clean that you must look in all the obscure places to see evidence of the old finish.  The door glass is modern, the dial repapered (includes the Ansonia logo), the hands are not as shown in the catalog illustration but are period.  The 8-day, time-only movement is signed and running; note that here it is mounted squarely and a bend in the pendulum rod is required to go around the winding arbor.  No label.  AAC sold a dark and crusty Queen Jane last summer for $402.  They are not common clocks.  $300-$500.
