Antique American Clocks January 2022
70. $600
E. Howard & Co. “No. 70 Regulator”, ca. 1900. A third No. 70 regulator, in walnut,
at 31-inches with a replaced base that does not quite match the lighter finish on the case. Both glasses are old, the dial glass
likely original and held in place with glazing. The tablet has been properly repainted. The dial is possibly an old repaint
with some in-painting of chips. The signed movement is running, driven by a proper No. 70 weight; the pendulum stick has been
repaired at the top and the bob is incorrect. Original weight shield held in place with square nails, a pendulum tie-down is
present but no label. $700-$1000.
