60.      $1200

Welch, Spring & Co. “Audran, B.W.”, ca. 1882.  An absolutely beautiful walnut case cleaned and polished, 31.5-inches tall with carvings all over the front.  The dial glass is original, the calendar glass old and likely original.  Both dials are glossy paper in good condition; the weekday hand is a replacement, the other hands are correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned but it has the Welch club tooth escapement; the B.B. Lewis calendar mechanism is working and there is a good label on the cover.  There is black flocking on the inside.  These models always look attractive, but this is the nicest one I can recall.  Horton’s sold one in 2019 for $1480.  $1200-$1500.
