57.      $100

Wm. L Gilbert Clock Co. “Mitra”, ca. 1891.  One of Gilbert’s more popular shelf clocks with lots of rectilinear lines in an attractive case with a large pendulum bob.  This one is in cherry with the original finish and some gunk accumulation in the corners and edges, 22 inches tall.  There is a bit of a chip on the top left cornice piece and a small pediment is missing from the top of the center cornice piece.  Both glasses are likely original.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a cathedral gong on the hours and half-hours.  A paper dial on a nickel dial pan and bezel, a label on the back.  This clock just needs a good case cleaning.  $100-$200.
