Antique American Clocks January 2022
45. $250
Sperry & Shaw fusee shelf clock, 1844-1851. A second grain-painted shelf clock in
the same style case, 20.5 inches tall, with a fusee movement and marketed out of New York. Here both glasses are old and likely
original, the tablet beautifully preserved. The painted dial is signed and has a nice patina, the hands are period and likely
original. The time-and-strike fusee movement is unsigned, and I assume it runs 1 day; It is running and striking as expected. The label is tattered; there is an embossed pendulum bob. Again a rare clock for which I can find no sales records. $250-$500.
