41.       $200

Smith & Goodrich fusee box clock, 1847-1852.  A 15.5-inch box clock in very rough condition – I believe they call these “barn finds”.  The finish on the case is dry and spotted, but the veneer is all there. Both glasses are likely original, with a nice frosted tablet.  The wooden dial board is lightly soiled with period hands that have been painted one time too many.  The fusee, 30-hour time-and-strike movement has two broken cords and so can’t be tested, and the movement is dirty.  There is a very good label inside.  Just needs a little love.  When in good condition these clocks sell for $400-$500.  $200-$400.
