Antique American Clocks July 2021
244. $250
Waterbury Clock Co. “Calendar No. 40”, ca. 1891. A 24-inch refinished oak case with old glass in
the door and two original painted dials, the time dial with fading and the calendar dial with chipping, especially at the screw mounts. The hands are correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is not signed; it is running and striking but the calendar is not
advancing and needs adjustment. The pendulum bob is Waterbury issue but not the one shown with this model. Two good labels
on the back, protected by plastic. Horton’s sold a similar example in 2019 for $350. $250-$350.
