Antique American Clocks July 2021
230. $75
E. Ingraham & Co. “Mosaic Front Doric”, ca. 1880. A 16-inch walnut case with alternating dark
and light bands (“candy striping”) on the rounded front trim. The two door glasses are original, still held in with the original
putty; the gilt image of a mounted horseman is intact and the black background in place. The dial is paper, unsigned, and very
old; the hands newer and they should probably be open spade hands. The 30-hour movement is very dirty but it is running
and striking, stamped “E. Ingraham & Co. | Bristol Conn”. A good label on the backwall. $100-$200.
