Brewster & Ingrahams four post steeple, 1843-1852.  A 19.25-inch case veneered in walnut with burl veneer on the front.  Four original posts with the original finials in excellent shape; original dial glass and period tablet with some losses; original painted dial and hands.  These are almost always found with a frosted lower glass, so I suspect it is a replacement here.  The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed, running and striking on a wire gong.  Good label inside. These generally sell for around $300.  $225-$325.
