Sperry & Shaw sharp gothic (steeple) fusee, 1844-1851.  A very nice steeple with a 30-hour fusee movement.  The case is 21 inches tall with flame mahogany veneer in excellent condition.  Four cone finials and two old if not original glasses, the tablet an excellent portrayal of the Capitol in the late 1840’s.  The painted and contoured dial is likely with the original paint, with rough touch-ups at the pins and top screw.  The hands are likely replacements. The 30-hour fusee time-and-strike movement is unsigned.  It is running and striking as expected.  A yellowed label inside. I can find only a few sales examples, none very recent.  $150-$300.
