Antique American Clocks July 2021
211. $50
Waterbury Clock Co. “Column Spring”, ca. 1867. A 14.5-inch case veneered in rosewood with
no major chips or losses. The columns are grain painted, possibly original. Both glasses are old, with a very nice rose
tablet on a blue background; the background may be newer. The painted metal dial is likely original, with considerable soiling
and two period replaced but appropriate hands. The signed 30-hour, time-and-strike spring-driven movement is running and striking
as required. Good label inside. $50-$150.
