Antique American Clocks July 2021
202. $250
Seth Thomas “Chime Clock No. 2”, ca. 1914. A simple 14-inch case in a mahogany adamantine finish,
not a chip or scratch to be found. The silvered dial shows light wear and spotting, about typical; it sits behind a convex beveled
glass. The 8-day, time, strike, and chime movements are bright and shiny and running like champs. Great sound on the four
bells; the hour strike is on one bell. You can turn the Sonora chime off if you like, but don’t – its beautiful. AAC sold
one last July for $205 and the chimes didn’t work on that one. $250-$400.
