F. Kroeber Clock Co. “Gothic”, ca. 1875.  A 15.5-inch walnut case with a clean finish and a simple form; the glass is original, with the original putty, the dial is paper with wear, and may also be original.  The “mousehole” door has a metal figurehead of a cat-like animal.  The 30-hour movement is signed “F Kroeber New York” and is running and striking. The wire gong base is also signed Kroeber; there is a label inside about adjusting the pendulum but no Kroeber label inside or out. $50-$100.
