178.     $1200

Ansonia “Crystal Regulator No. 2”, ca. 1914.  A 17.5-inch crystal regulator with a porcelain top and base, tinted forest green.  The porcelain is in good condition, no chips, cracks, or crazing, and the gold highlighting is strong.  Four beveled glasses, no chips, tarnished brass on the corners, a two-part porcelain dial with the Ansonia logo, no chips or cracks, and correct hands.  The 8-day, half-hour strike movement does not want to run and needs attention, perhaps just a cleaning.  I suspect it has not been run in many years.  The outside escapement has ruby pallets.  Tom Harris sold a green No. 2 in 2019 for $1400.  $1200-$1500.
