Antique American Clocks July 2021
170. $200
Ansonia Clock Co. “La Vergne” Royal Bonn clock, ca. 1914. An 11.75-inch by 14-inch wide porcelain
case with mauve to green coloring, bright gold highlighting, pink roses on the front and a visible escapement. The outer porcelain
dial shows several cracks; it sits behind a beveled glass in a standard bezel. I see no cracks, chips, or repairs to the case;
the 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and running, but the strike hammer is missing the cathedral gong. A very colorful
example of this popular clock of its era. $200-$400.
