Antique American Clocks July 2021
130. $200
Gustav Becker two-weight Vienna, ca. 1885. A 45-inch walnut case with carvings on the base
and the columns. Both front glasses are replacements; there was a crest at one time. There is some residual white mildew
in the crevices and low spots indicating that this clock was exposed to moisture in the past. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement
is signed and has a serial number dating it to about 1885; the mounting bracket is also signed, and there are two embossed brass weights
to go with the dull brass pendulum bob. The clock is running but stops at the slightest provocation. $200-$450.
