Antique American Clocks July 2021
127. $400
Gustav Becker two-weight Vienna regulator, ca. 1885. A large (54 inch) and ornate Altdeutsch-style
Vienna with brass ornamentation and multiple carved half-columns. The finials match and look original, the top center finial
differs slightly and may be a replacement. Note the brass ornament on the base. The door glass is old, the dial glass
modern; the two-part porcelain dial is flawless, the signed 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking once on the hours
and half-hours. The serial number on the movement (547352) dates the movement to between 1885 and 1890. Note the embossed
brass weights. There are some noticeable shrinkage cracks in the door, but overall, this is a nice one. $400-$800.
