Antique American Clocks July 2021
100. $3000
Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 19” REPRODUCTION, ca. 2000. Forty-five of these high-quality reproductions
were made and sold in the 2000’s. The clocks are identical in appearance to the original Seth Thomas model. The 75-inch
case is solid oak with a walnut stain and burl walnut panels on the inside back wall and crest. There are numerous carvings
and incisions on the corbels and crest and correct finials all around. The door glass is beveled. The painted dial has
the ST logo; it is missing the center post seconds hand. The 8-day, weight-driven, time-only movement is running, regulated
by a false mercury pendulum (the thumb-print vials are filled with lead shot; you could replace the shot with mercury if you would
like to live dangerously – I have mercury for sale in the Parts section, #604). There is a knurled brass weight as found in
the originals. A beautiful clock; originals sell for $7000 and up, when available. $3000-$5000.
Delivery is available
in the eastern half of the US for $400.
