Antique American Clocks July 2021
88. $200
Ansonia “Para”, ca. 1904. One of Ansonia’s wall clocks that was not named after a Queen
(there were at least seven “Queen” models). The 39-inch black walnut case has been refinished with a light stain, all the finials
are present and correct. The door glass is old, the signed paper dial original with the Ansonia logo, the hands are correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a cathedral gong on the hours. A good Ansonia beat scale
on the bottom and a good label on the back. No sales records for this apparently rare model in either the Antique Clocks Price
Guide or LiveAuctioneers. $200-$500.
