North Attleboro-area banjo, 1840-1870?  This is not a Seth Thomas banjo, despite what the dial says.  Seth Thomas did not make this style of banjo.  The 29-inch walnut case has faint grain painting; the glasses are newer.  The zinc dial has been repainted and improperly labeled; the hands are appropriate.  The 8-day, time-only movement is unsigned and mounted by diagonal corner screws.  The pendulum has round keyhole and a half-round wooden stick that has been stripped.  The bob attaches on a hook, like other North Attleboro banjos.  The weight is cast iron, possibly newer issue. The throat weight shield is missing.  The clock is running without issue.  $250-$400.
