75.      $250

Chelsea Clock Co. “Willard” banjo, ca. 1931.  A classic from Chelsea, described on page 18 of their 1931 catalog.  This is the ¾ size, 32 inches tall with a brass finial.  It holds an 8-day lever movement, non-strike that I can’t persuade to run.  The glasses show Perry’s victory on Lake Erie in the War of 1812.  The painted metal dial is labeled “Bigelow, Kennard & Co., Inc. Boston” behind a bowed glass in a brass bezel.  The case is dark mahogany and unmarred; there is a Chelsea key.  Horton’s sold one in 2018 for $300.  $250-$500.
