Antique American Clocks July 2021
71. $250
Waltham Clock Co. banjo, ca. 1930. A 42-inch mahogany-cased banjo with a weight-driven
movement and “Perry’s victory on Lake Erie” tablet. The case is unmarred, with brass sidearms, a brass eagle finial, and two
original tablets. The painted dial is original, signed, and sits behind a bowed glass. The 8-day time-only movement is
signed but won’t run for more than a few minutes. It likely needs to be disassembled and cleaned; the weight is lead. There is full weight shield and a pendulum tie-down. No label. An identical model sold at Vogt in 2020 for $500. $300-$500.
