Antique American Clocks July 2021
12. $750
E. Howard & Co. “No. 70 Regulator”, ca. 1923. A 31-inch oak case with a clean
and possibly original finish. The signed dial is also likely original and has been touched up very well, but paint is flaking
off the numerals. Both glasses are original, with the original putty holding the dial glass in place; there is minimal flaking
to the tablet. Frankly, everything on this clock is original. The only thing missing is the weight shield. The weight
is marked “70”, the 8-day time-only movement is signed and running; the pendulum bob is damascened. There are numerous notations
on the back of the door and the back of the case regarding ownership. This is as nice an original example as you are likely
to find. $750-$1200.
