Seth Thomas 8-day steeple, ca. 1880.  A rejuvenated (1955) steeple, 20 inches tall in mahogany veneer with few chips and no obvious repairs.  Both glasses are modern, the tablet beginning to peel.  The painted dial is also modern, the hands old.  The signed 8-day time-and-strike movement is running and striking the hours on a signed wire gong. No label.  The movement used to have an alarm, but I don’t see any evidence of an alarm in this case.  The collector who rejuvenated the case signed the inside top.  Pretty enough.  $50-$100.
