Antique American Clocks January 2021
216. $50
Terry & Andrews “round gothic”, 1842-1850. A prolific firm making up to 40,000 clocks per
year at their peak, before forming the Ansonia Clock Co. with Anson Phelps. The round gothic, or “beehive” was a common model. The rosewood veneer is good but dark, with one possible repair. The case is 19 inches tall. Both glasses are old, the
lower is cut glass. The dial is likely original, the hands period, and there is a nice and largely complete label on the back
wall. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed Terry & Andrews and runs reluctantly with coaxing. $75-$150.
