202.    $150

American Clock Co. paper mâché shelf clock, 1850-1879.  A 16.5-inch all wood paper mâché clock with extensive mother-of-pearl (MOP) chips and pieces on the front.  I can find only one missing chip of MOP; the gold stenciling remains bright.  The dial has been repainted, the hands correct to style but the minute hand a bit too long.  Both glasses are old.  The movement is unsigned, running 8 days with time-and-strike on a wire gong.  There are remains of a label inside, enough to establish the maker and location, No. 25 John St, NY.  A very nice example.  $150-$250.
