Antique American Clocks January 2021

E.N. Welch “Arditi”, ca. 1889. This Welch calendar uses a Daniel Gale calendar mechanism. The 27.5-inch black walnut case has a clean finish and is all original; the door glass is old, the time dial has been repainted, the
calendar dial is paper, with subdials for the day of the week and month. Both dials are in good condition and all hands are
correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running and the calendar is advancing. The calendar movement
is signed Gale with an 1885 patent date. Several well-preserved labels on the back and an instruction label inside. This
is a nice example of this popular calendar clock. AAC sold one last summer for $450. $400-$500.
