95.      $ 600

Southern Calendar Clock Co. “Fashion No. 9”, ca. 1889.  This is the New Haven version of the No. 9, made by the New Haven Clock Co. for the SCCC after SCCC changed ownership and moved to Columbus, MS.  The relocated firm was only in business for a year or two.  The case is made of hardwood stained dark walnut, with a flat top and crest rather than rounded top.  The finials also differ from the earlier finials.  The glass in the door is likely original, the Fashion lettering is correct.  Black unlabeled paper dials were used, as found here; these are likely replacements and the dial pans may be as well.  The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed with the New Haven logo. It is running and striking a rich deep gong on the hours and half-hours.  The simple calendar is advancing.  There is a good white label inside with instructions and stating that the clock was made for the SCCC by the New Haven Clock Co.  AAC sold two last summer for $650.  $600-$750.
