Antique American Clocks January 2021
37. $200
Marsh, Gilbert & Co. shelf clock, 1832-1834. A 33-inch case with rebronzed half-columns
and splat, original dial glass and a newer repainted lower glass, nicely done. There is an ivory escutcheon with a key, a wooden
dial in very good condition and two period hands. The 30-hour wooden movement was not tested (weight cords need to be unwrapped);
there is a period pendulum bob and two old weights. A good label inside. Another nice-looking early clock. $200-$400.
